Game three of the 2018 Mississippi State football season is finally here

And now we’re heading into the third week of the 2018 college football season. After this weekend’s slate is finished up and everything is all said and done, we will officially be finished with the first quarter of the 2018 Mississippi State football season.

Things are moving rather quickly and becoming more and more interesting.

The Mississippi State football team is 2-0 at the moment. The Bulldogs demolished the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks and then cleared the road hurdle that was the Kansas State Wildcats. Right now, Mississippi State looks pretty good.

The Bulldogs aren’t flawless though. MSU has made plenty of errors and mistakes so far this season. But this game against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns is a great opportunity to get some of those issues resolved and all of the kinks fully ironed out before State takes the road to take on SEC opponents.

Next week, MSU will face the Kentucky Wildcats. UK is definitely going to be ready for that game.

But, we’re not talking about next week just yet. We’re talking about Mississippi State facing Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Bulldogs are a notably better team with a much more talented roster. The gulf of talent between Mississippi State and the Ragin’ Cajuns is a rather wide one. That doesn’t mean that MSU shouldn’t be careful, but it does mean that State should win big here this weekend. The Bulldogs get to play at home in front of a great crowd in Davis Wade Stadium and will be afforded something of an opportunity to work out some of the problems in the passing game.

Next. Mississippi State to honor Alex Wilcox with customized helmet decals. dark

Mississippi State assistant coach Mark Hudspeth will get to face his former team and the Bulldogs should come away with a solid victory. At halftime, MSU will retire Alex Wilcox’s number and the Mississippi State football team is honoring her memory in several ways this weekend. It’s game day, folks. College football is still here and we get to enjoy it. Get ready for MSU and Louisiana-Lafayette tonight.
