This week’s Mississippi State football game is ending up on a different channel because of rescheduling issues with other games

If you wanted to watch the Mississippi State football team this week, you’re going to be in luck. The Bulldogs are going to be playing on a different channel than they were originally set for this week due to scheduling issues around the country with the anticipation of Hurricane Florence.

Due to Hurricane Florence arriving, many schools on the east coast have started to postpone, or possibly cancel, games because of the possible damage and danger that the massive storm may create. There’s plenty of risks associated with this storm and college football is certainly the least of everyone’s concern at the moment.

Because of the destruction that Florence may cause, several games that were originally set will not be played this weekend. An unintended consequence of that is now we will be able to see the Mississippi State football team take on the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns this weekend.

Mississippi State’s athletic department released a statement about the situation here. The official Mississippi State football twitter account also tweeted the schedule update:

From MSU’s press release:

"The contest, which was originally scheduled to air on the SEC Network Alternate Channel, was moved to ESPN2 due to games being moved or canceled with approaching Hurricane Florence."

Obviously, football should certainly be the absolute least of everyone’s concern at the moment. There are millions of lives that could be significantly changed by both the direct and the indirect effects of Hurricane Florence.

dark. Next. Kylin Hill is on the verge of breakout season

As a Houstonian, I know how horrible hurricanes can be. I’m certain that many Mississippians can certainly relate because of what happened with Katrina. From everyone here at Maroon and White Nation, we are certainly thinking of and praying for those that might be impacted by the storm. Please stay safe, everyone.
