Nick Fitzgerald will get another week of rest and Mississippi State football can disguise its game plan for Kansas State a little better

This is not an ideal situation. Not by any means. You never want your starting quarterback suspended for any reason. He’s the leader of the offense and someone who is supposed to be helping this entire team move forward.

But, there is something of a bright side to this.

Nick Fitzgerald will be well rested for the second game of the season. The Mississippi State football team isn’t really going to have to worry about Stephen F. Austin. The Lumberjacks aren’t a team to be feared.

Kansas State, on the other hand, could be an issue for MSU. Because Fitzgerald will be out, the Bulldogs will likely change their game plan some, not reveal all of their offense, and allow Fitzgerald to be fully rested going into the game against Kansas State.

Again, this is not an ideal situation. Nobody really really wanted this to happen to Fitzgerald or the Bulldogs. However, MSU should still be 2-0 by the time the second week of the 2018 season is wrapped up.
