Five thoughts on Mississippi State football suspending Nick Fitzgerald

Joe Moorhead has suspended Nick Fitzgerald from the first Mississippi State football game

The Mississippi State football team will be without the services of its starting quarterback for week one. That’s right, Nick Fitzgerald has officially been suspended from MSU for the first game of the season.

It’s not clear as to why Fitzgerald will miss the game against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks, the only listed reason right now seems to be an undisclosed violation of team rules.

That’s not clear at all.

Regardless, MSU will be without Fitzgerald for week one. That’s a huge deal. Stephen F. Austin isn’t a huge opponent, the Bulldogs should certainly still win against the Lumberjacks without Fitzgerald. After all, SFA doesn’t even have a head coach at the moment.

However, it’s never really good to lose your starting quarterback and one of your captains going into the first week of the season.
