It looks like Mississippi State might be bringing back a beloved logo

UPDATE: THEY HAVE BROUGHT BACK SEVERAL LOGOS. READ ABOUT IT HERE.

A couple of days ago, Mississippi State athletics’ official twitter account put out somewhat of a cryptic message for fans. The tweet from @HailState teased of something “#fromTheVault” and had a short video that featured the phrase “Old Dawg. New Style. Coming Soon.” You can watch that video right here.

There was plenty of speculation on twitter as to what it might be. Some fans thought it could be a new alternate uniform or throwback uniforms. With the timing of it and how other schools in this state have changed their mascot, some fans on twitter seemed concerned that MSU would be updating the look of its mascot.

However, it certainly looks like that isn’t the case.

A couple of hours ago, @HailState tweeted another graphic out with the same hashtag, this time with the silhouette of what appears to be the old “Walking Bully” logo.

For those that aren’t overly familiar with the “Walking Bully” logo, it’s a logo that hasn’t been used in quite some time. You can check out what it used to look like at www.sportslogos.net.

The graphic that was tweeted today had the same phrase “Old Dawg. New Style.” It definitely doesn’t take any sort of detective to figure out that that these tweets are linked together and that MSU has plans for its old logo.

Next. How should MSU replace "Don't Stop Believing?". dark

But, it appears that they’re going to release more on that logo at some point today. It’s possible that we’ll get news and updates about it sooner rather than later.
