Which players should the Mississippi State football team watch out for?

  • Jarrett Stidham– In his first season starting, former Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham performed pretty well. There was an adjustment to Auburn’s scheme, but Stidham was a solid quarterback for the Tigers all things considered. Last season, Stidham threw for 3185 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions while completing over 66 percent of his passes. Auburn will be looking for him to continue to improve so that they can continue to succeed this season.
  • Kam Martin– Kam Martin wasn’t the featured running back for the Auburn Tigers last season, but there’s a good chance he will be this year. A season ago, he was the number three back on Auburn’s roster. During that time, Martin ran for 453 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 6.1 yards per carry.
  • Derrick Brown– A season ago, Derrick Brown was a key member of Auburn’s defense, helping to anchor one of the best defensive lines in the Southeastern Conference in 2017. Now, Brown will be expected to continue his strong play up front. In 2017, Derrick Brown made a total of 57 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 3.0 sacks.
  • Javaris Davis– Javaris Davis wasn’t a defender that was really all that high on Auburn’s list of tackles made. In 2017, he came in at 16th on his team with a total of 29 tackles. However, he could be pretty good in pass coverage. Last year, Davis defended 6 passes, snagged two interceptions, and ran one interception back for a touchdown.
