Mississippi State Football vs LSU

LSU is, historically, a rather difficult opponent. Up until recently, Mississippi State never really had much of a chance against the Bayou Bengals. However, Dan Mullen certainly changed that over the time that he spent in Starkville.

Now, things are completely different between these two teams.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs beat down the Tigers by a score of 37 to 7. Mississippi State essentially controlled that game from start to finish and ran the Tigers off the field. LSU put up a decent fight as the game got started, but from the second quarter on, the Bulldogs were on top.

This game could be a tricky one as Mississippi State does have to travel to Baton Rouge. Weird things tend to happen in these sorts of matchups in Death Valley.

But, MSU is the better team coming into this season. The Bulldogs have a wealth of firepower on offense and one of the best defensive lines in the country. Plus, Ed Orgeron isn’t exactly regarded as the most innovative coach in college football these days.

ESPN’s FPI is giving Mississippi State a 59.6 percent chance of winning this game.
