The 2018 SEC Media Preseason Poll results have been released and Mississippi State football is getting some respect

The Mississippi State football team is earning some solid respect right now. The Bulldogs, heading into the first year of the Joe Moorhead era, were picked pretty high by the collective group of media members from SEC Media Days.

Historically, MSU has been selected somewhere around 5th through 7th in the SEC West.

This year, things are quite a bit different.

Going into the upcoming college football season, the SEC Media preseason poll has the Bulldogs as the third best team in the SEC West. In all of that, the Mississippi State football team received a couple of first place votes as well.

That’s right. The SEC Media Days crowd is pretty high on this upcoming Mississippi State football team. And, well, there’s certainly plenty of reasons to be excited about the Bulldogs going into 2018.

Nick Fitzgerald is a highly talented quarterback with a ton of potential. The Bulldogs are returning a wealth of depth up front on both sides of the ball and in addition to that, Mississippi State has 17 returning starters going into next year.

Joe Moorhead is arriving at a situation where he can succeed immediately. With his brilliant mind and the amount of talent and depth returning, the Mississippi State Bulldogs should be a solid team going into this upcoming year.

Next: Joe Moorhead Can Elevate MSU's Ceiling

Because of all of that, Mississippi State is getting plenty of respect. MSU rarely gets this sort of notoriety and positive attention and it’s certainly a good thing to have moving forward. Moorhead can elevate MSU’s ceiling and getting this sort of respect is a byproduct of that.
