Damien Robinson, formerly an offensive lineman on the Mississippi State football team, is joining the Starkville Police Department

Damien Robinson represented the Mississippi State football team pretty well during his time in Starkville. The Olive Branch native played in 49 games during his time on MSU’s football team. He never quite made a splash on the field, but most members of the offensive line never really do.

Their job is typically to protect quarterbacks and create space in open field for running backs. They’ll do a couple of other things here and there, but that’s a fairly simple generalization of their job.

Sure, it’s more complicated than that, but you get the gist of it.

Robinson helped solidify the field goal kicking units on Mississippi State’s special teams during his time on the MSU football team. Damien Robinson redshirted when he got onto campus in 2010, but from 2011 through 2015, he played consistently on special teams during field goals and extra point attempts.

In 2014, Robinson tore his ACL and wasn’t able to continue playing during what was supposed to be his senior season. However, he earned another year of eligibility and was able to play during the 2015 season.

Now, Damien Robinson is joining another team in Starkville. Robinson has officially been sworn in as a Starkville Police Officer.

In case you were’t sure which guy Robinson was in those pictures, he’s the guy that is by far the tallest one in the room there.
