Mississippi State Football vs Ole Miss

Yes, this is one of Mississippi State’s easiest football games. It’s right in the middle of the pack in terms of difficulty, but it’s still one of the easiest games for the Mississippi State Bulldogs to go through in 2018.

That said, of these six games, this is the most difficult for the Bulldogs to win.

EPSN’s Football Power Index gives the Bulldogs a 67.8 percent chance of winning this game. The Bulldogs will battle the Rebels in Oxford and that’s really the biggest reason as to why this game isn’t considered “easier” on this ranking.

Yes, the Egg Bowl is unpredictable. Yes, the Egg Bowl is a rivalry game and all rivalry games are wild. This one seems especially so. And yes, last year, the team inferior actually came out on top at the end of the game in an upset. Some would probably make that same argument about the 2016 Egg Bowl.

Regardless, in 2018, the Mississippi State football team should come out on top of this game. With Nick Fitzgerald fully healthy, 17 starters returning, 20 seniors and 29 juniors on the roster, and a team looking for revenge, MSU is set to win the Egg Bowl with Joe Moorhead at the helm of the ship.

Mississippi State should be able to reclaim the Golden Egg Trophy. The Bulldogs should be able to go north into Oxford and come out with a win. It’s not the easiest game on State’s schedule, but it’s still one that MSU should win.
