Mark McLaurin’s Veteran Presence Anchors The Bulldogs’ Secondary

Mark McLaurin returns to the Mississippi State football team as the Bulldogs’ leading tackler and pass defender. Last year, McLaurin certainly made his name known throughout the Southeastern Conference by racking up 79 tackles and snagging six interceptions for a total of 85 yards. McLaurin also broke up 6 basses and defensed 12.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are certainly happy to have him back this year and he gives fans plenty to be excited about this season.

There are a few questions remaining about the secondary and how good it will be this season. Mississippi State is still getting things ironed out with the cornerback situation and Brandon Bryant did leave Starkville to find somewhere else to continue on.

Having McLaurin and his experience in the defensive backfield is crucial for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State will have a loaded defensive front in 2018, having a solid secondary to go along with it will be incredibly helpful against some of the SEC’s better offenses this season.
