Hopefully Konnor Pilkington Will Return To True Form As He Moves Forward

While the rest of his team struggled during the first half of the season, Konnor Pilkington came out and was dominant. He had no issues as the Friday starter and had a 2.61 ERA as March came to a close. By the end of April, his ERA moved up to 3.04.

At the end of March, Mississippi State had a record of 14-15 overall and 2-7 in SEC play. By the time April came to a close, the Bulldogs had a record of 24-21 overall and were 9-12 in SEC play. The Bulldogs went 10-6 during the month of April and had improved greatly.

In May, everything kind of fell apart for Pilkington but the team was playing better than ever. Pilkington’s ERA by the end of May had jumped up to 4.28 and he was absolutely struggling. However, his team had a 31-25 record by the end of May. The Bulldogs went 7-4 during the month and made it into the NCAA Tournament.

Pilkington rebounded in the College World Series and in the run up to it. Still, he was far better during last season. He showed just how talented he was in the first half of the season. Hopefully he’ll improve and remain consistent as he goes forward.
