Mississippi State Baseball Should Host A Regional Next Season

This should be be the first major goal for Chris Lemonis and his team. In 2019, Mississippi State baseball should host a regional. The Bulldogs have a pretty good recruiting class coming in, plenty of key pieces returning for next year, and will have one of the best available college baseball stadiums in America.

Mississippi State should be able to host a regional next season. They’ll need to make sure that they have enough success on the field though.

And still from there, the Bulldogs should aim even higher.

Mississippi State is coming off of an improbable College World Series run. With what the Bulldogs might have together in 2019, State should aim to repeat their unlikely success from this college baseball season.

Regardless of that, it’s been too long since the Mississippi State baseball team hosted a regional. 2016, with John Cohen still as the head coach, was the last time that a regional in Starkville was played. The Bulldogs hosted a Super Regional that year too but fell to eventual national runner up, Arizona.

Mississippi State baseball should aim for a College World Series run in 2019. Omaha is exactly where the Bulldogs should be aiming to get to. However, in 2019, the road to the college world series should run right through Starkville.
