The Mississippi State baseball team needs another huge win to even contend for the 2018 College World Series

The Bulldogs are close. The really are. In the most improbable season ever, the Mississippi State baseball team has made its way back to Omaha to compete in the 2018 College World Series. This is the Bulldogs’ 10th trip to Omaha but it didn’t occur under anything that might resemble normal circumstances.

MSU opened the season by being swept and then lost its head coach. And yet, Gary Henderson has guided the Bulldogs here. To Omaha. In the College World Series. A place that he’s never been before and hasn’t ever competed in.

Now, the 2018 Mississippi State baseball team has a chance to win it all. But, before the Bulldogs can do that, they must find a way to beat Oregon State at least once.

What do you think? Can this Mississippi State baseball team really do it? Will the Bulldogs finally bring a national title back to Starkville?

This team and this season feel different than many in the past. This is a team that doesn’t know how to quit, refuses to believe that it has been beaten, and won’t ever give up. These Bulldogs have been truly resilient and are just one win away from contending for a national title. And, well, they’re just three wins away from bringing it back to Starkville.
