Jordan Westburg put Mississippi State baseball on the board in the College World Series with a grand slam
Jordan Westburg picked the perfect time to get another home run! The man that brought the Rally Banana to Mississippi State baseball put the Bulldogs ahead of North Carolina with this incredible grand slam against the Tar Heels!
North Carolina claimed an early lead in the sixth game of the College World Series. After the game was postponed and rescheduled because of weather issues last night, the Tar Heels jumped out to a 1-0 lead over MSU in the 1st inning.
However, that lead wouldn’t last for very long.
With one out, Elijah MacNamee got on base with a blooping single into the outfield with one out. Justin Foscue was then able to get on thanks to an error by the Tar Heels. Then, Luke Alexander loaded the bases with a single of his own.
And that’s when Jordan Westburg stepped up to the plate and completely changed the game.
With two outs in the top of the 2nd inning and a 1-2 count against him, Jordan Westburg swung and put Mississippi State baseball ahead in the College World Series by a score of 4-1 over the North Carolina Tar Heels.
