The Colorado Rockies Chose Hunter Stovall

Hunter Stovall has constantly been a solid second baseman for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Because of that, the Colorado Rockies chose Stovall, a junior, late in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.

Stovall has been one of the more consistent hitters for MSU this season. At the moment, he is fourth on the team with a batting average of .315 in all 61 games this season. The Bulldogs have also been blessed by his performance in the field as Stovall has a .965 fielding percentage.

This year, he does have 11 errors, which is the most on the team, however that is something that can be fixed. It’s possible that Stovall will come back for another year, but the Rockies selection of him with the 636th pick does give him a chance to go on and play pro ball.
