The Mississippi State baseball team will get a rematch with Oklahoma for a chance to win the Tallahassee Regional

The Mississippi State baseball team has officially made it to the Tallahassee Regional Championship. The Bulldogs just beat Florida State and Samford in back to back elimination games, sending both teams home.

Yesterday, Mississippi State beat Florida State on an incredible walk off home run from Elijah MacNamee. Then today, MSU knocked the Samford Bulldogs out of the Tallahassee Regional after surviving an onslaught of runs in an attempted comeback.

Now, MSU gets to play Oklahoma again.

Earlier this weekend, the Mississippi State Bulldogs and Oklahoma Sooners faced each other. In that game, MSU scored 10 runs. Unfortunately, Mississippi State simply couldn’t keep Oklahoma off the board and the Sooners scored 20 runs.

It’s not very often that a team scores 10 runs and then loses by 10 runs. And when it does happen, it isn’t very fun.

But now, Mississippi State has a shot at redemption. The Bulldogs and Sooners will play tonight at 5:00 pm central time. Should the Mississippi State baseball team actually come out on top in that game, then the Bulldogs and Sooners will play again tomorrow.

Can Mississippi State actually hand the Oklahoma Sooners two losses? MSU has done well all year when they’ve been counted out. To close out the regular season, Mississippi State won 17 of its last 27 games. The Bulldogs weren’t supposed to even make it into the SEC Tournament, let alone the NCAA Tournament. MSU was 2-7 in SEC play halfway into the season.

But the Bulldogs won. And in the Tallahassee Regional, Mississippi State just somehow keeps winning. The Bulldogs will need to muster up everything they can when it comes to taking on the Sooners tonight. And hopefully, they’ll have a chance to do the same thing tomorrow.
