Mississippi State baseball is turning to Denver McQuary to start against Oklahoma

The Mississippi State baseball team is relying on Denver McQuary to take on the Oklahoma Sooners. After the Mississippi State Bulldogs knocked the Samford Bulldogs out of the 2018 Tallahassee Regional, MSU advanced on to battle Oklahoma in the Tallahassee Regional Championship.

This year, McQuary has drawn five starts on the mound. His first start of the season came against Southern University about halfway through the year. McQuary also started games against Alabama State,  at Memphis, against Ole Miss, and then at Alabama.

The Mississippi State baseball team will need for McQuary to play well when it takes on the Oklahoma Sooners tonight. MSU is starting to run thin on pitchers and McQuary hasn’t exactly shown to be overly dominant throughout the season.

However, his head coach, Gary Henderson, has plenty of confidence in McQaury’s abilities. Right now, Henderson fully believes that McQuary will pitch well.

Should the Mississippi State Bulldogs need him, it’s possible that JP France will also be available in the game tonight.

Both France and McQuary pitched earlier today. In the game against the Samford Bulldogs, McQuary and France combined to go for two innings to get Mississippi State out of the game and moving on. France had a pair of strikeouts after relieving McQuary.

Mississippi State is playing with its back up against the wall. There is little margin for error for McQuary and the Bulldogs.

Next: MSU Will Face Oklahoma Again

The Mississippi State baseball team must beat Oklahoma tonight if they want to continue playing this year. And, should MSU get that win, they’ll just have to beat Oklahoma again tomorrow. But before we can even seriously discuss another game, MSU must win tonight.
