Watch Mississippi State Baseball Find Out They’re In Tallahassee Regional

The Mississippi State baseball team now knows its fate for postseason play

It’s time for the NCAA Tournament and the Bulldogs have learned where their road to Omaha will start. Earlier today, it was announced that the Mississippi State baseball team would head on over to Tallahassee, Florida to play against Samford, Oklahoma, and the hosting Florida State Seminoles.

Mississippi State is fresh off of a loss in the SEC Tournament, but the Bulldogs have accomplished plenty this season. The Bulldogs were swept in the opening series. Following that, they lost their head coach in the midst of the scandal. To top all of that off, the Bulldogs played the vast majority of the early season on the road because their home field was still under construction and wasn’t cleared to play in.

And still, Mississippi State made the postseason.

The Bulldogs went 15-15 in SEC play this year, went 9-1 against the No. 1, No. 4, and No. 5 seeds this year. Those nine wins came as the Bulldogs swept top ranked Florida and third ranked Arkansas as well as taking three of four from then third ranked Ole Miss.

And MSU is in the postseason.

Mississippi State’s first game in the regional will be against the University of Oklahoma Sooners. The Bulldogs and Sooners will battle each other to open the regional up this Friday at 11:00 am central time.

The 2018 Mississippi State baseball season has been full of hard moments. But, the Bulldogs have overcome plenty throughout the year. Now, despite all that they’ve worked against, they are in the postseason. And they’re looking to win it all this year. Whether or not they can actually do it, what this team has accomplished so far should be commended.
