Central Arkansas Helping Mississippi State Softball Freshman Alex Wilcox
The “No One Fights Alone” campaign by MSU has been a truly special one. Freshman softball player Alex Wilcox has been battling ovarian cancer for years, struggling with the disease since she was in high school.
When she arrived on the campus of Mississippi State University, her teammates embraced her and the university supported her. Then, the MSU softball team started wearing teal and ran a campaign to raise awareness of what she was going through and how it impacts many women worldwide.
As it happens, Alex Wilcox’s story went international. Everyone from MSU’s rival Ole Miss to a professional softball team in China started supporting Wilcox and the “No One Fights Alone” campaign. But, few have done as much as the University of Central Arkansas and their softball program.
The UCA Bears have proven how much they intend to help and they have raised funds to help take care of Wilcox’s medical bills.
Mississippi State’s 2018 season has been a memorable one. The Bulldogs won 38 games, the second most that any team has won under Vann Stuedeman. There’s been great moments to remember all year.
