The Mississippi State baseball team needed Elijah MacNamee to get the Bulldogs back in the game
Last night’s Mississippi State baseball game against the Florida Gators was an incredibly impressive victory for the Bulldogs. But, MSU didn’t just outright dominate Florida from beginning to end. Instead, the Bulldogs needed a huge comeback in late innings of the game to get back in and come away with a win.
Elijah MacNamee started that comeback.
In the bottom of the 7th inning with one out, Elijah MacNamee got the Bulldogs on the board. Mississippi State trailed the Florida Gators 3-0. MacNamee made sure that the deficit heading into the eighth inning wouldn’t be more than a single run.
After Hunter Stovall got on base thanks to a single, Florida changed pitchers, taking out their starter and bringing in someone from the bullpen. Shortly after that, with one out, MacNamee hit a two run home run.
The Mississippi State baseball team went on to win the game, in large part because of what MacNamee did here. This two run home run from Elijah MacNamee put the Bulldogs in a position that they could overcome the Florida Gators an inning later.
