What Is Vegas Saying About Heisman Chances Right Now?

Right now, Las Vegas isn’t all that high on Nick Fitzgerald winning the Heisman Trophy this season. Not that I totally blame them. Nobody from Mississippi State has won a Heisman before and Nick Fitzgerald’s performance in 2017 wasn’t the most impressive ever and he was considerably more impressive in 2016.

As it currently stands, Fitz isn’t even in the top 10. He’s not in the top 15. Nick Fitzgerald is, right now, in a three-way-tie for the 19th spot on this list of who is most likely to win the Heisman in 2018.

Fitzgerald isn’t even in the top 5 players from the SEC that are most likely to win the Heisman according to this list.

That’s not exactly the standing that one would really want to be in if they were hoping to get plenty of Heisman hype heading into next year. But, as with Chase Goodbread’s list that was discussed earlier, it shows that Fitzgerald fits the dark horse Heisman candidate bill to the letter.

Which, right now, makes sense and might be where Fitzgerald wants to be. He’s got a great opportunity to prove people wrong, just as he’s done for most of his college career to this point right now.
