Will the Mississippi State baseball team make it into the SEC Tournament?

This has not been the season that Mississippi State baseball fans envisioned that it would be. It’s certainly not what the Mississippi State baseball team wanted it to be. But, regardless of that, it is what it is.

Now, the Bulldogs are fighting for a berth in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament.

Mississippi State is 28-24 on the year. The Bulldogs have some incredibly solid victories over tough opponents. They also have choked away some much needed wins. And, against fellow teams from the SEC, the Mississippi State baseball team holds a 12-15 record.

Right now, the has MSU toward the bottom of the pack in the conference and the SEC West.

Mississippi State will face a tough Florida Gators team this weekend. Right now, Florida has a 41-12 overall record and a 20-7 record against SEC teams. They’re the defending national champs and they could win it again this year.

If MSU isn’t careful, and depending on what happens around the SEC this weekend, Mississippi State might actually find itself on the outside looking in when it comes to the upcoming SEC Tournament.
