Mississippi State baseball continues its road trip up to Lexington, Kentucky

The Mississippi State baseball team is wrapping up its somewhat lengthy road trip in Kentucky this weekend. The Bulldogs have been away from home for the past four games and now, they’ll play three more on the road.

Heading into this weekend, the Mississippi State baseball team holds a 27-22 record overall and an 11-13 record in SEC play. When the Bulldogs face the Kentucky Wildcats, they’ll meet a team that is 31-17 this season and 11-13 in SEC games as well.

Mississippi State is in need of wins in order to close out a rough and rocky season on a high note. After an incredibly difficult start to the season, the Bulldogs have overcome a lot of circumstances that have been outside of their control. And, now, MSU is looking at making it into the postseason. The Bulldogs could use a few more wins to lock up their postseason bid though.

And that brings MSU to Kentucky.

The Wildcats have won 6 of their last 10 games, including 3 of their last 5. But, Kentucky is fresh off of a series loss to the Tennessee Volunteers. Mississippi State has won 7 of its last 10 games and 3 of its last 5. But, the Bulldogs claimed their most recent series, beating Alabama twice.

Now, the two teams will play each other. What will this weekend hold?
