Punter

The Mississippi State football team is in need of a new punter after Logan Cooke graduated and made his way into the NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars picked him up and have left MSU looking for a replacement.

Tucker Day and Kody Schexnayder are currently battling it out for the starting position. Schexnayder received playing time back in 2016 when the Bulldogs needed a punter, but Day has had the better spring so far. That said, Day spent his time this past season as a backup field goal kicker.

Still, given how Day performed in the Maroon and White Game, I’d expect him to earn the starting job at the moment.

  • Starter- Tucker Day
  • Backup- Kody Schexnayder
