Mississippi State Will Need To Be Solid At The Plate

The Mississippi State softball team has a few powerful hitters that have excelled this season. The team as a whole does pretty well when it steps up to the plate. But, unfortunately for State, the bats cool a bit against pitchers from the Southeastern Conference.

Mississippi State, this season, is hitting .291 as a team and is slugging .464 collectively. The Bulldogs have a total of 43 home runs this year. But, that success doesn’t seem to carry over into SEC play.

Against Southeastern Conference foes, Mississippi State is batting with significantly less success. MSU has a .226 batting average in SEC play as a team and is slugging at just .349. The Bulldogs have a grand total of 15 home runs this year.

The Mississippi State softball team will need to find a way to manufacture runs and continue to score reliably this weekend. Tennessee isn’t a pushover at all.
