Final Thoughts On This Series?

Thankfully, the Mississippi State baseball team isn’t the only team present in this series that’s struggling a bit. Mississippi State is 24-21 on the year with a 9-12 record against opponents from the SEC. Alabama is a bit behind the Bulldogs with a 23-23 overall record this year and an abysmal conference record of 5-16.

Mississippi State can definitely win this one.

The Bulldogs could even sweep it. But, they’ve blown nice opportunities before. This certainly hasn’t been the year that Mississippi State had hoped for. Most of the circumstances that caused this down season, if not all of the circumstances that caused this season, weren’t predictable.

Nobody really knew that Andy Cannizaro’s scandal would be something that would, well, happen. And nobody knew how the season would play out from there. But, the Bulldogs have another chance to get a few wins and get some recognition.

Mississippi State can take this series.

The Bulldogs just have to do that. They simply have to win. MSU cannot let itself get distracted by the season coming to a close. If the Bulldogs want any sort of postseason play, Mississippi State must win at least twice this weekend.
