2014

The 2014 Maroon and White game is by far the most important one from the Dan Mullen era. That shouldn’t come as much of a shock to anyone. It was right before the most successful year of Mississippi State football in decades.

The Bulldogs were returning Dak Prescott, but this time he’d be the full-time starter. Dak had previously entered games and started in relief of Tyler Russell, but he showed his potential then and there.

Plus, the Mississippi State football team had momentum. The Bulldogs succeeded down the stretch of the 2013 season and were building for the future. With Geoff Collins as MSU’s defensive coordinator and Dan Mullen running the offense, fans had plenty to be excited about  and to look forward to in the upcoming football season.
