Mississippi State Baseball Heads To Auburn In Search Of Second SEC Series Win

Mississippi State baseball took two games from then 3rd ranked Ole Miss last weekend. Earlier this week, they claimed a 15-4 victory over Alabama State. Now, MSU is headed over to Auburn, Alabama to attempt to take another SEC series.

The Bulldogs haven’t had the season that they’ve wanted. It’s been seemingly derailed and tipped over and burnt to the ground on many occasions. But, Mississippi State baseball still technically has a shot at making the postseason. And it may not be totally absurd to think about them getting there.

It just won’t be an easy feat to do so. Mississippi State will need to win the bulk of their remaining games.

That starts with Auburn this weekend.

If Mississippi State can take this series, they’ll leapfrog the Auburn Tigers in the SEC West standings. They could also potentially move ahead of a couple of SEC East teams, depending on how things shake out.

So, let’s start looking out how this weekend might go.
