Mississippi State Football Earns Commitment From Brandon Cunningham

Just like that, Mississippi State football earns another huge commitment! Brandon Cunningham, a four-star offensive lineman per 247Sports, appears intent on playing college football at Mississippi State University.

Earlier today, Cunningham was committed to the University of Miami. Now, he’s committed with the Bulldogs.

Cunningham is a solid offensive lineman. At 6-5 and 270 pounds, he’s already built to contend with defensive linemen at the college level. He’s got the size and strength to move linebackers and defensive linemen out of his way.

Cunningham is a Mississippi native, currently living in Ocean Springs and playing for St. Martin high school. His commitment to Mississippi State is huge and will keep another talented lineman playing for MSU instead of Miami.

Plenty of other schools expressed interest in Cunningham as well. Florida, Florida State, and Ole Miss are all also interested in the lineman. But, right now it looks like he’ll be headed to Starkville.

Now, Mississippi State’s recruiting class now has a couple of solid offensive linemen. State already had Montravious Richardson on board. Richardson is a 6-7 and 320 pound lineman out of Georgia. His pairing with Cunningham provides MSU a solid front for the future.

The Bulldogs continue to recruit well. Getting Cunningham away from Miami and keeping him in state is a huge move for Joe Moorhead. Many people expressed concerns about Moorhead’s ability to recruit in the south given that he’s not from here.

Right now, it looks like that shouldn’t be an issue. It hasn’t been for the past few weeks.

Terrell Buckley was the head guy on the recruiting trail for Brandon Cunningham. If Mississippi State can continue to recruit at the level it currently is, the Bulldogs will be looking at a pretty good class at the end of all of this.
