Keytaon Thompson Will Be the Star of the Spring Game

This one isn’t really all that bold of a prediction. But, I figured we could work our way up to something a bit more bold. We start with something straightforward and work from there. And, honestly, this is as straightforward as we can possibly get.

Nick Fitzgerald is wearing a yellow jersey. He’s coming off of a terrifying injury in the Egg Bowl that involved his foot spinning around and facing the wrong direction. And, well, I really don’t know exactly how much playing time he’ll get in the spring game because of that. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Joe Moorhead tried to play him some, in a limited role, and then rested him the remainder of the way.

And beyond the fact that Fitz may not play much, fans are excited and anxious about the future of Keytaon Thompson.

The young quarterback shined as a freshman and captured everyone’s attention. In the TaxSlayer Bowl, he outplayed a Heisman Winner in Lamar Jackson. His ability to make electric plays will catch the attention of defenses and fans alike.

Don’t be surprised if Thompson makes some noise in the spring game. It’s possible that he’ll receive the bulk of the snaps at quarterback and could create a nice little highlight reel for himself this spring.
