Mississippi State Basketball: Victoria Vivians Invited to WNBA Draft

The Leading Scorer for Mississippi State Basketball Is Invited to the WNBA Draft

Mississippi State basketball has a player who will be heading for the WNBA draft very soon. On April 12th, Victoria Vivians will be at the Nike New York HQ to hear her name called in the 2018 WNBA draft.

Vivians has been a star in Starkville for the entirety of her career. Each year that she was under Vic Schaefer’s guidance led to an even better performance that next season. Now, Victoria Vivians is prepared to play professionally in the WNBA.

In her first year on campus, Victoria Vivians got her career started well. She scored 15 points a game and was making 37.6% of her shots. He sophomore year saw her grow in several ways. Vivians was then making 38.3% of her field goal attempts and was scoring 16.7 points per game. Last season, Vivians averaged career lows in her three point shooting percentage and rebounds, but she was scoring 17.2 points per game.

Then, she improved dramatically in preparation for her senior year.

This season, Vivians scorched opponents routinely. Throughout the year, Victoria Vivians averaged 19.7 points per game, a career high. Vivians also saw career highs in assists per game with 1.9, rebounds per game with 6.0 and her shooting percentages. In 2017-2018, she made 49.7% of her shots, went 39.8% from downtown, and hit 82.9% of her free throws.

Because of all of this development and improvement, Victoria Vivians is ready to compete with the best in the world. She’s ready to take her skills and play in the WNBA next season.

Victoria Vivians has represented Mississippi State basketball well. She’s a key figure in the Bulldogs rise to prominence. Soon, she’ll have a chance to go represent MSU and the state of Mississippi in the WNBA. Good luck, Victoria. We’re all rooting for you.
