Mississippi State Basketball Fell In A Heartbreaker, But the Bulldogs Have Built Up A Fanbase

Hey. Mississippi State basketball. Right now, specifically the women’s basketball team. Thank you.

I know that the season didn’t end well. It was an atrocious ending that should have gone the other way had the referees actually called a foul where they should have. I know that y’all know that already.

What I’m really here to say is thank you. Thank you for all that you’ve accomplished this season. You went 37-2 this season. You won the Southeastern Conference. Reaching the Final Four, and the national title game, for the second time in a row. You’ve done just about everything and accomplished so much.

Thank you for that.

Also, thank you. Thank you for showing an entire state that Mississippi State is capable of competing for a national title. There aren’t many teams from Mississippi that can realistically make a run quite like you did. But you just did. And you were so close.

For the second year in a row, you have made a fanbase, a state, and a rather large metaphorical extended family believe that you could do it all.

Thank you for that as well.

For the seniors that have built this program, thank you for your years of hard work. To the transfers that came to Starkville to carry it into that next stage of success, thank you for moving Mississippi State forward. For the younger players filling this roster, thank you for all that you’ve done so far and all you’ll do in the future.

Because Mississippi State will be back. The Bulldogs aren’t going away. Yes, a lot will be lost to graduation. But this program has been elevated beyond belief. And Mississippi State knows that it can play with anyone.
