Kylin Hill is a More Than Capable Backup

Kylin Hill came to Starkville from just down the road in Columbus, Mississippi. Admittedly, the talented running back saw the field sooner than I expected but he was certainly a joy to watch when he was on the field.

Hill totaled 393 yards last season. Though that puts him fourth on the team in rushing, that’s good enough for second at the running back position. When you get Fitzgerald and Keytaon Thompson’s rushing stats out of the way, Hill comes out to be the second best rusher on the team.

Hill has the potential to be a bit more dynamic in the open field than Aeris Williams. It’s possible for Kylin Hill to come in and provide an energy and a spark through a big play that Williams may not necessarily provide as regularly.

As a duo, Williams and Hill should put up numbers and put plenty of defenders on their backs. The two compliment each other well and provide plenty of options for Fitz, or Thompson in relief of Fitz, to move up the field.
