Mississippi State Football Has Accumulated a Multitude of Running Backs, Joe Moorhead Will Benefit from That

Over the past few years, Mississippi State football brought in several solid running back options. Dan Mullen accumulated quite a few running backs with varying skill sets. And, because Mullen did that, Joe Moorhead now has a wealth of options in the backfield.

It’s no secret as to how successful Saquon Barkley and Joe Moorhead were when Moorhead was up in Happy Valley. Barkley was rightfully in Heisman discussions because of the production that he generated on the field.

His versatility made him dangerous. And MSU has a lot of versatility in a very loaded backfield.

From Aeris Williams, last season’s leading rusher for the Bulldogs, to some of the lesser used guys that can block and plug holes to prevent pass rushers from coming through, Moorhead has several running backs who could benefit from his ingenious play calling.

If this season is to be a special one, Mississippi State football will need its running backs to perform well and produce alongside Nick Fitzgerald. Now, let’s take a look at what Moorhead will have to work with.
