Vote For Victoria Vivians and Teaira McCowan so They Earn More Recognition for Their Season
Mississippi State’s women’s basketball program has ascended over the past few years. We’ve seen the team contend for a national title, slay a juggernaut in UConn, and win the SEC this year. The hard work and dedication of the women’s basketball team has carried them to incredible heights.
Now, two leaders of this year’s team need your votes so that they continue to be recognized.
Victoria Vivians and Teaira McCowan are both in consideration for the Basketball Hall of Fame Naismith Starting Five, which compiles a roster of the best five men’s and women’s basketball players in the nation. As such, both Vivians and McCowan are being considered.
Their play has carried the Bulldogs to a 32-1 record and a perfect regular season. Vivians and McCowan have led the way scoring, putting up 19.6 and 17.1 points per game respectively. They also lead MSU in rebounds with McCowan pulling down 13.2 rebounds per game, giving her a double double, and Vivians getting 6.0 boards per game.
In this voting, you have to select a player from each position. That means one for point guard, one for shooting guard (Victoria Vivians), one for small forward, one for power forward, and then one for center (Teaira McCowan).

Senior CLASS Award
On top of that, Vivians is in the running for the Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes involvement in the community. The CLASS Award is given to senior student athletes from every sport who have earned consideration from their play on the court, their involvement in the community, their performance in classes, and their character.
You can vote for Vivians and help her win this award. Currently in the fan vote, Vivians is in second place to UConn’s Gabby Williams. The fan vote counts for ⅓ of the total consideration as to who earns it and you can vote for up to 3 players, but be sure to support one of Mississippi State’s own.
We’ll find out where the women’s basketball team will play tomorrow once it’s announced. Of course, we will keep you updated along the way. But for now, be sure you support two leaders who done a lot and have made this season a special one. Vote for Victoria Vivians and Teaira McCowan.
