Alabama running back La’Damian Webb has committed to Mississippi State. The three-star prospect chose the Bulldogs over a host of offers that includes Louisville, Missouri, and Ole Miss.

Webb becomes the Bulldogs’ third commitment in less than a week for the 2018 recruiting class. He announced his pledge to Mississippi State over Twitter:

Webb is one of the most dangerous tailbacks in the 2018 cycle. Playing in rural Alabama, Webb rushed for 3,242 yards and a state record 47 touchdowns during his junior season at Beauregard High School. He has big-play ability and can find the end-zone from anywhere on the field.

The dynamic rusher set an Alabama high school record for rushing touchdowns in one season, according to The Clarion-Ledger’s Will Sammon. Webb’s 3,242 yards is the second most in the Yellow Hammer State’s history. This past January, La’Damian Webb became the first junior to ever win Mr. Football in the state of Alabama.

"Webb, a 5-foot-8, 184-pound junior running back, added his name to the AHSAA record books this season, setting a single-season touchdown record with 47, and rushed for the second-highest season yardage total in AHSAA history with 3,242 yards. In two years, Webb has rushed for 74 touchdowns and 5,017 yardsWebb was named the ASWA Class 5A Back of the Year and was chosen to thegroup’s Super 12 team. He is also the first junior to win the Mr. Footballaward in its history."

Yeah, he’s pretty good.

In this past year’s signing class, Mississippi State added four-star rusher Kylin Hill to a running backs room that already includes 2014 four-star Aeris Williams, 2015 four-star Nick Gibson, and former three-star prospects Dontavian Lee and Alec Murphy.

La’Damian Webb gives Dan Mullen a scoring threat from anywhere on the football field. He consistently burns defenses and has practically lived in the end-zone throughout his high school career.

He plays similarly to former Mississippi State tailback Josh Robinson. Like the Bowling Ball, Webb is small in stature, but he uses his vision to find the open field and won’t go down easily. It’s also easy to see the electrifying running that LaDarius Perkins showcased during his career in the Maroon and White. Webb will be a great change-of-pace rusher in Mississippi State’s backfield, and he adds another dimension to Dan Mullen’s spread offense. You can watch his hudl highlights here.

Alabama’s Mr. Football becomes Mississippi State’s 15th commitment of the 2018 class. He is the seventh out-of-state pledge for Mullen in the current recruiting cycle. Welcome to the family, La’Damian!
