From Dak’s alleged machine signatures to players heading to SEC Media Days, there is no shortage of Mississippi State related news today. Here are the latest news and notes from July 5th:
NOTES:
Dak Prescott ‘allegedly’ had a machine sign his signature on a number of cards.
Is this a big deal?
I’m not so sure. I mean, it is his signature. Sure, he probably shouldn’t have used a machine in those circumstances, but I don’t think it should harm his character or how people view him. Since becoming the face of one of the most recognizable frachises in sports, Dak has stayed out of trouble. This is a misstep for sure, but it shouldn’t be too big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
Plus, as DawgAtAuburn points out, Dak himself is a machine.
Donald Gray, Martinas Rankin, and Dez Harris will represent Mississippi State at SEC Media Days.
SEC Media Days in Hoover begin next week. The players representing each school were announced earlier today:
One notable thing is that Nick Fitzgerald will not be accompanying Dan Mullen in Hoover. Instead, Mullen has decided to take three very deserving seniors with him. Mississippi State will meet with the media on Tuesday.

Q&A with Texas A&M blog Gig Em Gazette
With football less than 60 days away, I decided to talk with Gig Em Gazette‘s site manager Matthew Bartlett. We discussed topics ranging from Texas A&M’s expectations, to who will start at quarterback for the Aggies, and to how their fans view Dak in the NFL. Here’s a little bit of what he said:
"6) How do Aggies fans in Texas feel about Dak Prescott?Bartlett: It depends. Are you referring to the Aggies that are Cowboys fans or Texans fans? By and large I think most people have come to realize that he’s been just as good in the pros as he was in college, if not better. It’s fun to see a young guy go out and have success. As a Houston native, I personally wish he’d ended up somewhere other than Dallas, but that’s just me."
Interesting insight from A&M’s perspective.
