Mississippi State picked up its 11th commitment of the 2018 recruiting class, as Miami defensive Aaron Morgan announced his commitment.

Clanga!

Mississippi State has landed its 11th commitment of the current recruiting cycle. The second commitment of the month of June for the Bulldogs.

Aaron Morgan, a 3-star defensive end out of Miami Carol City (FL) High School announced his commitment to Mississippi State over Twitter on Wednesday afternoon. Morgan becomes the first defensive end in the 2018 class to give his pledge to the Bulldogs.

Morgan is listed at 6-foot-3 and weighs 240, per his 247Sports recruiting profile. In addition to Mississippi State, the south Florida native was offered by Rutgers, Southern Miss, and Charlie Strong’s South Florida. He spent his junior season playing for Hallandale High School, but decided to finish his high school career at Carol City.

Per Paul Jones of Bulldawgs247, the coaching staff first saw Morgan at Florida Atlantic’s satellite camp.

"Miami Carol City (Fla.) High School’s Aaron Morgan first caught Mississippi State’s attention a couple of weeks ago via a satellite camp. The 2018 defensive end spent a lot of time with the Bulldog coaches at that Florida Atlantic camp, and obviously, that time spent left a lasting impression."

The newest addition to Mississippi State’s 2018 class was recruited by Terrell Buckley. Buckley starred during his college career at Florida State, so it isn’t surprising he is able to pull prospects out of the Sunshine State. The Bulldogs landed Tyler Dunning and Cordavien Suggs out of Florida in last year’s recruiting cycle.

Aaron Morgan is currently unrated by 247Sports. He is a raw prospect, but the coaching staff must see enough in him to accept his commitment this early in the process. Morgan played defensive tackle for Hallandale, but is listed as defensive end on 247Sports. He shows a strong push off the line that helps him bring down opposing ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage.

Aaron Morgan is the third out of state commitment for the Bulldogs in the 2018 class, joining Texas quarterback Jalen Mayden and Alabama kicker Evan McPherson.

Welcome to the family, Aaron!
