Mississippi State’s legendary quarterback Dak Prescott is seeing a rise in stardom, but he returned to Starkville to host a camp for kids.

Last night, the players voting in the NFL Top 100 voted Dak Prescott as the fourteenth best player in the National Football League. That shows the kind of respect Dak has earned from his peers in just his first season at the professional level.

Despite all of the fame, endorsement deals, and stardom, Dak Prescott made sure to return back to Starkville to host his Adidas Football ProCamp on the campus where he grew up. Dak’s day in Starkville consisted of teaching and having fun with the 700 kids that were in attendance. He has hosted similar camps in Texas and Louisiana, but he made sure to bring one to Starkville.

Dak spoke with Bulldawgs247’s Paul Jones about what the day meant to him:

"“It’s just everything that Mississippi State has done for me,” said Prescott. “I know how pivotal these years were in my life and my career. Just everything this university has done for me, this town, the state of Mississippi, when we started picking places for camps it was a no-brainer to come back home.“And it’s been a great turnout. As I said, it’s good to see familiar faces, see coaches and have some of my family and friends here, as well. It’s been amazing.”"

With Dak in town, the turnout at the event was huge. All of the young, aspiring athletes look up to Dak, so it is awesome to see the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year give back to the community that is so special to him.

The media caught up with the face of the Dallas Cowboys after the event:

"“Today is special.”"
