Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott showed off his swing en route to raising $50,000 for the Salvation Army in the Dallas Cowboys’ Home-Run Derby.

Dak Prescott has quickly become one of the faces of Dallas since taking over for the injured Tony Romo last season.

The former Mississippi State star has been a fan favorite, on and off the field. Dak’s high-level talent and high character makes it easy to see why so many admire the star signal caller. Whether it was taking the Cowboys on a magical ride last season, or the individual accolades, it is clear that Dak Prescott has a bright future in Dallas. The fans have certainly embraced him.

The Dallas Cowboys hold an annual Home-Run Derby to raise money for charity. This time, the event was open to the public. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Jason Witten were some of the big names set to participate. As a result, many Dallas Cowboys fans eagerly bought tickets to see their favorite players knock baseballs out of the park.

Living approximately 20 minutes away from Dr. Pepper Park in Frisco, I decided to make the trip out to see Dak and the Cowboys. On a warm Monday afternoon, Dak, Zeke, and the rest of the players in the event put on a show for the fans in attendance.

The Cowboys participating were separated into two teams and played three rounds. The batter scored $100 by hitting a ball into the outfield and $500 for hitting it over the fence that was put in the middle of the outfield.

Dak has experience on the mound, but being in the batting box is different. Nonetheless, Dak impressed the crowd.

Dak seemed to enjoy his time at the event, having fun in any way that he could:

But, as usual for Dak, it is always time for business.

The entertaining night resulted in raising $50,000 for the Salvation Army. Dak Prescott is quickly becoming a star in the big city of Dallas, so it is cool to see him give back in a fun way.
