Many Rebel and Bulldog fans love to debate Dak versus Eli as college football players.

Many Rebels like to brag about Eli finishing third in the 2003 Heisman race. The same Rebels want to point out how Eli was invited to New York and Dak wasn’t as he finished 8th in 2014.

Rebels want to say “well Eli is a much better passer”. Really, Rebels? Let’s take a look at a few facts.

For the heck of it, let’s first only compare Dak’s junior year compared to Eli’s senior year – his best season as a Rebel, because it wouldn’t even be close if I used Eli’s junior year.

  • Dak Prescott (61.6 pct, 3,449 pyd’s, 27 td’s, 11 int’s, 8.7 y/at, 151.7 rate)
  • Eli Manning (62.4 pct, 3,600 pyd’s, 29 td’s, 10 int’s, 8.2 y/at, 148.1 rate)

Okay now that you have seen the passing stats, let’s dig a little deeper:

  • Dak Prescott – 10 regular season wins.
  • Eli Manning – 9 regular season wins.

Let me remind you once again, we are comparing Dak’s junior season to Eli’s senior season.

Now on to the statistical category that carries one well above the other as a college football player.

  • Dak Prescott (986 rush yd’s, 14 td’s)
  • Eli Manning (-28 rush yd’s, 3 td’s)

Dak also added thirty-five yards receiving and a touchdown.

Now let’s look at the career totals.

  • Dak Prescott (9,376 total yards, 70 td’s, 23 int’s, 24 total wins, 146 rate)
  • Eli Manning (10,119 total yards, 81 td’s, 35 int’s, 24 total wins, 137.7 rate)

The fact is, and if you’ll look at this without certain goggles on, you’ll see that Dak Prescott is not only the better all around quarterback, but he’s just as good of a passer in college as the “great” Eli Manning was.

Now tell me again why Eli deserved the trip to New York and Dak didn’t?

I’ve always wondered if the last name had anything to do with it.

There’s no denying Eli has had a great NFL career, and we’re about to see what Dak can do. But as far as college football goes – Dak had just as good if not better of a career than Eli did.
