Offensive line was a weak spot for MSU last year, particularly on the left side. As Josh Barnhill wrote last week, the left side of the O-line is a huge question mark for the Bulldogs. That’s where Martinas Rankin could have a big impact. Rankin was the number one junior college offensive lineman in the country in 2015. Coming out of Mississippi Gulf Coast CC, Rankin spent 2016 redshirting.

If MSU wants to move Justin Senior to left tackle, Rankin could slide in at right tackle and improve the entire offensive line. That would be a huge step for Mississippi State who will also be developing a new quarterback behind that offensive line.
