The Auburn Tigers come to Davis Wade Stadium Saturday October 8th. MSU should enter this game 3-1 or worst case 2-2. If State loses to South Carolina and LSU in weeks 2 and 3 this game becomes even more important. You can’t possible start the year with three SEC loses and expect to contend. The most probable scenario, I believe, is the Bulldogs come into this week 3-1 so beating Auburn would help propel MSU into the top 25. The bottom line with this game is this: if Mississippi State wants to move up a tier in the SEC West, Auburn is one of the teams you have to beat consistently.
