The popular show on Food Network has a contestant who pulls for Mississippi State.

Season 12 of Food Network Star began in late May and is now down to just six remaining finalists. One of the six, Jernard Wells, is a MSU fan.

Wells lives in Atlanta, Georgia but mentions that he is from Mississippi at least a couple times per episode. Two weeks ago while making tailgate food he said:

"I’m from Mississippi and I’m a Bulldogs fan."

Jernard Wells is known as the “chef of love” because he has nine kids with his wife of 16 years. He specializes in southern cooking.

Food Network Star is a reality show on Food Network in which contestants display their cooking chops in front of the camera in an effort to secure their own show. Each summer a new chef is crowned as a new star on the network. This summer Wells has a shot to win that honor.

The show comes on Sunday nights at 8:00.

Here’s what his profile reads via FoodNetwork.com:

"Jernard Wells, 37 (Atlanta), With a wife of 16 years and nine children, Jernard has deemed himself “The Chef of Love.” He believes food and love go hand in hand and wants everyone to know how easy cooking can be — and how much excitement it can add to your life. As an executive chef, Jernard has traveled all over the world, including cooking for Tyler Perry, and has even published three cookbooks. Currently the general manager of a tavern in Georgia, Jernard loves to infuse any dish with his Southern flavors and a Cajun twist."
