Zac Houston or Jacob Billingsley

The Bulldogs had one of the best stoppers in college baseball for three seasons when Jonathan Holder was pitching for the Bulldogs. In 2015, no one really locked the job down for the Mississippi State baseball team.

The most likely candidates to try and nail the door shut in the late innings for the Bulldogs is Zac Houston and Jacob Billingsley. Both have the stuff to come in and get three to six outs to close out a game, but neither has a ton of experience doing so.

Holding on to leads late in a game is crucial to the success of a baseball team. One of these two players needs to step up and show that they not only have the stuff to be the closer, but they have the mental toughness to shut the opposition down when it matters most.
