We all have our favorite players among the Mississippi State Bulldogs athletic teams, but it doesn’t mean we need to tear down some of the other members of the team to exalt out favorite.

Fans of the Mississippi State Bulldogs are no different than fans of any other team or school in the country. And like most fans, we tend to gravitate towards one or two players on the teams we love so much.

If you are a fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs, you don’t have to look any further than this past season’s football team to see that trend. Dak Prescott will go down as arguably the most beloved Bulldog of all time. And one of his receivers, Fred Ross, was a fan favorite.

But for whatever reason, we sometimes think the only way to prop up our favorite player is to tear down someone else on the team. It wasn’t a major issue on the 2015 Football team, but there were a few small arguments I noticed among the fans about the difference in the seasons De’Runnya Wilson and Fred Ross had. Some people had mild arguments about who the better receiver was.

Like I said, these arguments were mild and sporadic. But the current basketball team is in the midst of one of those situations. And the 2016 football team has the potential to have a nasty version of one of these.

It doesn’t have to be that way. To prove it, let’s look at the basketball team first.
