Can the Bulldogs get better on the recruiting trail this season?

The biggest weakness Dan Mullen has had in his time as the head coach of the Mississippi State football team has been recruiting. Many Bulldog fans were hoping he had remedied that in 2015 when he had a recruiting class that was unanimously ranked in the top 20.

But as of this writing, the Bulldogs sit at number 40 in the rankings according to 247sports. One of the reasons for this is the Bulldogs have only 15 recruits, but if the remaining recruits they sign aren’t ranked very high, then Mississippi State is likely to stay around the 40 mark.

If the  coaching staff could sign the two players we have already mentioned, Lashley and Brown, then the recruiting class would take a huge step forward. But the team needs to close out the season strong and get some of the highly ranked prospects in this year’s class they have their sights on.
