#4: Wayne Madkin

Madkin was the quarterback for several of MSU’s most famous teams. He was the starter from 1998-2001, and is the school’s all-time leading passer despite splitting a good portion of his time during his freshman, sophomore and senior seasons with Matt Wyatt and Kevin Fant.

Wayne led State to the 1998 Western Division championship as a freshman, then a 10-2 record as a sophomore. The Bulldogs had another great year in 2000 finishing 8-4 after winning the “Snow Bowl”. He entered his senior year as the all-time passer but struggled throughout the year as the team collapsed to 3-8.

MSU records:

  • 2nd in completions
  • 2nd in passing yards
  • 4th in passing touchdowns
