#6: Rockey Felker
Known to many MSU fans as the head coach in the late 1980s and/or for his administrative role with the program for the last decade plus, Felker was also a star quarterback in the early 70s.
Rockey was the starting quarterback from 1972-74. The program was mired in losing with only one winning season in 10 years before Felker’s breakout season in 1974. He threw for over 1,100 yards and rushed for over 400, combining for 15 total touchdowns and was named 1st team all-SEC. MSU finished the year 9-3 with a win over North Carolina in the Sun Bowl.
Felker’s statistics don’t jump off the page, but he was undoubtedly one of the best. He had a tremendous ability to run and throw.
